Brief Overview
This educational session examines the broader clinical management of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), focusing on the impact of comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the expanded indications of Empagliflozin (Jardiance) and how its use can improve long-term outcomes beyond blood glucose control. The session highlights the central role of the general practitioner in early identification, screening, and management of comorbidities, as well as the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and early intervention in improving patient outcomes. A self-reflective component encourages participants to evaluate their current approach to T2D management and identify opportunities to implement a more comprehensive, patient-centred strategy.
