Brief Overview

This educational session provides general practitioners with an overview of the specialised services available at Hunter Rehab Hub, including physiotherapy, cancer rehabilitation, and the chronic oedema clinic. The program equips GPs with the knowledge to identify suitable patients, understand early intervention principles, and facilitate timely referrals for comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.

Program Details

1. Obtain an understanding of Hunter Rehab Hub's areas of service provision
2. Receive education on potential cancer treatment related side effects, lymphoedema and lipoedema
3. Obtain an understanding of the resources available to assist general practitioners in identifying patients in general practice that may benefit from referral to Hunter Rehab Hub for specialty care
4. Obtain an understanding of the importance of early detection and intervention in the cancer rehabilitation and chronic oedema care sector
5. Receive education and information on the conservative management options available for cancer treatment related side effects and the chronic oedemas (including primary and secondary lymphoedema, lipoedema and oedema by other causes)
6. Be informed on the funding options available for patients at Hunter Rehab Hub
7. Obtain an understanding of how to refer patients to Hunter Rehab Hub
