Evidence-Based PTSD Recovery for Veterans: Insights for GP’s-Veteran trauma recovery and contemporary PTSD medication management

This education webinar is focused on contemporary approaches to veteran trauma recovery

and PTSD management, and is ideal for GPs, psychologists and allied health professionals

with an interest in veteran mental health, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, DVA patient care,

psychopharmacology, and collaborative mental health treatment pathways.

The session aims provide support in navigating the complexities of veteran mental health care,

while strengthening referral pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration to help improve

outcomes for veterans and their families.

Learning outcomes

• Determine referral pathways and the role of the MRTRP in supporting recovery and

continuity of care

• Identify common presentations and clinical features of PTSD and cPTSD in veterans

and ex-serving personnel

• Determine evidence-based medication management strategies for PTSD, including

prescribing considerations and common treatment challenges
