GP Osteoarthritis Co-Design Dinner with Professor David Hunter

Naia Health is hosting a small dinner for local GPs and practice teams to discuss the future of osteoarthritis (OA) care in general practice.

Professor David Hunter is a rheumatology clinician-researcher and internationally recognised leader in osteoarthritis research. He is the Florance and Cope Chair of Rheumatology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney, as well as a Staff Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital. Since 2014, he has been ranked as the world’s leading expert in osteoarthritis by ExpertScape and ScholarGPS.

Professor Hunter and his University of Sydney research team are currently working on a project focused on developing osteoarthritis standards for general practice, and are seeking input from GPs to help co-design the project and ensure it reflects the realities of clinical practice.

The evening will also provide an opportunity to meet members of the Naia Health team, including clinicians representing both our specialist and allied health services. Naia is a multidisciplinary healthcare practice in St Leonards, bringing together rheumatology and allied health professionals to support patients with complex musculoskeletal and chronic health conditions.

What to expect

• A short presentation from Professor Hunter on current developments in osteoarthritis
• An introduction to the co-design project and an opportunity for GP discussion and feedback
• A brief introduction to Naia Health and our multidisciplinary services
• Informal discussion and networking with Professor Hunter, members of the University of Sydney research team and Naia clinicians
• Dinner, drinks and plenty of time for conversation

The presentation and discussion will run for approximately 35 minutes, followed by a relaxed dinner and drinks.

No preparation is required, and the evening is an eligible CPD activity. Dinner and drinks will be provided.
